Dus Lakh was one of the highest grossing films at the Indian box office in 1966 and won 2 Filmfare Awards in 1968. The film also marked the childhood debut of Neetu Singh. Credited in the film as ‘Baby Sonia’, Neetu Singh went on to become a Bollywood star, appearing in over 50 films by the age of 21, when she fell in love with her co-star, Rishi Kapoor. In keeping with Kapoor family tradition, she retired from acting after their marriage.
"These showcards emphasize romance and different female roles, from the traditional temple dancer to the fashionable woman and modern wife. The artist has drawn on a range of styles to provide visual interest and generate a desire to see the film. Ironically, these mostly monochrome advertisements boast “Eastman Color,” new colour film technology introduced in the United States in the early 1950s and thereafter in India.
